Automated Market Analysis Platform: StrataSearch - p.2

Beyond AutoSearch

Along with AutoSearch, StrataSearch offers 3 other broad processing categories: Strategy, Multi-System, and One-Click Search.  Each of these is a sophisticated automation routine in it's own right.

A Strategy contains a specific set of trading rules (rather than random combinations of them), but allows for optimization of the rule parameters (aka variables, inputs) rather than keeping them fixed.  Indeed, a Strategy in StrataSearch is very similar to a strategy in other trading software you might be used to, but with the following features:

bulletextremely fast execution
bulletfull portfolio evaluation across sectors of your choice
bulletrandom substitution of parameters (rather than sequential)
bulletpermanent saving of filter-qualified results in the StrataSearch Results Database

Component strategies are automatically created as an integral part of other high-level procedures in StrataSearch (i.e. AutoSearches, One-Click Searches).  Any of these component strategies can be selected by the user, given a specific name, and operated on its own as a strategy applied to any sector (or symbol) of choice.  Applying a Strategy (rather than an AutoSearch) to a sector locks down the trading rules (particular calculations) in use while sampling the permutations of the inputs to those calculations (e.g. lengths, periods, etc.).

For example, if an AutoSearch were to find that trading rules using MACD and %R combined well to trade the Dow30 across a certain period, you could extract these rules as a named Strategy (e.g. "MACD_PctR_01") , then run that Strategy and let the randomizer vary the parameters for MACD and %R while applying the entry and exit rules to any sector.

You can define as many named Strategies as you wish, accumulating as time goes by both Strategy definitions and Strategy results.

A Multi-System is a collection of Strategies applied to sectors and combined into a single evaluation.

Observe in the picture above how 3 different Strategies are applied to 3 different sectors to create the single Multi-System '3-Way Street'.  This is illustrates the "mix and match" nature of Multi-Systems, each of which is basically a broad-palette trading plan of arbitrary complexity.

StrataSearch's evaluation of  a Multi-Strategy is always a portfolio-oriented evaluation.  Selection among competing candidate trades, account equity allocation, tie-breaking, and other aspects of combined evaluation are all handled by StrataSearch according to your setup specification (or your acceptance of defaults).  StrataSearch provides comprehensive statistics and graphs to show you the simulated historical performance of any Multi-System.

Like Strategies, Multi-Systems are automatically created as an integral part of other high-level procedures in StrataSearch (i.e. One-Click Searches), and can also be defined, named, saved, and evaluated manually by the user.
